Are there play together requests for Fall Ball?
Similar to Upper Division Spring Baseball and Softball we do not capture, or honor play together requests for Fall Ball. We do try to place players from a similar League on the same teams, so that players have a better chance of playing with other players they may know. The reason we do not have play together requests is because we need to ensure that the teams are well balanced and competitive. This means ensuring we have an even distribution of ages, skill level, and key positions on each team.
What are the season dates for Fall Ball?
The season Fall Ball starts the week of Monday 8/19. The final game will be on Sunday 10/27. There will be no game scheduled for Sunday 9/1 due to the Labor Day Weekend. My child is playing different positions than what he/she has been played before. Why is that?
Fall Ball is instructional in nature and we look to expose our players to a range of positions throughout the season. This variety will provide an opportunity for all players to get experience at a multitude of positions as they develop their game.
Is coaching help needed?
Yes! Please see our Volunteer Opportunities page if you are interested in helping manage or assist with coaching. Please direct any issues or questions regarding volunteering to [email protected]
What activities other than coaching can parents do to help?
SVLL is dependent on parent volunteers! There is always a need for volunteers to assist with field prep, umpiring, score keeping, dugout cleanup, etc. All of these jobs are necessary to run a successful season and managers cannot do it alone. Please jump in and take an active role in your child's season!
My child is younger than league age 8? Are there any other options for baseball during the summer/fall time frame?
League age 7 players are being incorporated for the 2024 Fall season. This is because the 7 to 9 year old division will be playing Rapid Baseball/Softball. This incorporates a dedicated adult pitcher or pitching machine with timed innings. For example a team will bat for 15 minutes. Bases are cleared after three outs, but the same team keeps batting until the 15 minutes expires. Rapid Baseball/Softball provides more good pitches to hit, more at-bats, and defensive players during a game.
There are various camps and other leagues available for ages 6 and below. Some leagues to check out are:
