COVID Safety Plan (Spring 2021)

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

●      Teams will provide hand sanitizer. Players and coaches will be required to sanitize between innings and at the beginning and
end of play.

●      All players and coaches will be required to wear masks when on and off the field and spectators encouraged to follow the governor’s directions.

●      Umpires will be behind the mound.

●      When off the field- social distancing 6 feet will be required for all players.

●      Priority of seating goes to players (i.e. bleachers are the dugout). Spectators will sit in cars or the outfield.

●      Dugouts can be used, as long as there is 6 ft between people (people  walking past in a dugout is permissible to allow more than 1 person in the dugout)

●      Players (with financial support / loaners of the league as needed) will supply their own helmet, bat, glove, catcher equipment. Please contact us if you are not able to provide equipment for your player.

●      Teams on the field will provide their own ball, and will be sanitized with disinfectant or alcohol wipes between innings

●      No handshakes or high fives

●      No shared/team snacks/drinks

●      Foul balls are retrieved by players

●      No sunflower seeds or peanuts (nothing that encourages spitting)

●      Central/Puget Sound Region covid numbers will be used for district 9 in regards to the phase we are in and the accompanying restrictions

●      Each team will have a team parent or other volunteer who will act as the safety coordinator and ensure as much as possible that players are following protocols.

●      Parents will be asked to agree that they will keep their child home in the event of an exposure or symptoms as per WA DOH recommendations and will not bring the child back until cleared by a healthcare provider or county health department, or until they have completed any quarantine, or isolation period.

●      Adult volunteers, officials, and parents will sign in each game and practice and attest to no symptoms.

●      All these protocols are subject to change

●      The League cannot completely eliminate the risk of transmission, although it is thought to be low if safety protocols are followed rigorously.

This model follows LLI Covid Best Practices (https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/best-practices/)

We will also follow the recommendations of our local authority regarding changes (more or less restrictive) based on covid rates in our community.
